in 2014 Charles Saatchi was pictured holding Nigella Lawson round the throat. Pictures appeared in the press. Artist Unknown reproduced one of these pictures on a small canvas using oil and uploaded it to saatchiart.com for sale at $30,000. Charles would have taken a cut for the sale

Within a month ‘throttle art’ was born as the Sundays splashed the story all over the country. Saatchi was asked to comment which he did allowing the art to remain on his site but obviously not amused

To stir the issue even further, Artist Unknown painted several other executions (re Lawson’s love of cooking) on wooden chopping boards. To date the work remains in the artist’s private collection
